I always wondered how it’d be like to have an Ace up my sleeve. I did one better and have pocket rockets. I have made some changes, so it is a sleeve at the top and not an opening at the bottom, so you don’t have to pull out the whole Pocket2Monster to get your phone or cards out.

Pocket Rockets
July 25th, 20108-bit Mario
June 4th, 2010I wanted to have something appear to be jumping out of the pocket and was pondering what I could do, so I thought about jumping Mario getting some coins. haha. I thought it would be pretty easy because you can just trace him. I decided to do something different with this one, made it a bit more functional and that the hard base that lets it stand out of the pocket is a phone holder.
Here I am wearing it with my baby blue cardigan with some empty lonely pockets. Got to say, the simplicity and recognizability of this one looks good in a suit.
I put in a 8-bit Goomba at the bottom so when you pull it out, it still looks great. The phone is held in with some velcro at the bottom keeping it closed. Make a pocket2monster in the create section of the page.

Pocket Squares
May 3rd, 2010What ultimately got me to this idea was the frustration in the pocket square. To me, it was quite boring. The flower coming out of the suit is out of style and the current trend for folding a pocket square is to basically fold it into a square and just showing a little bit of color popping out. It is a bit subdue for my taste. Black tie affairs tend to look like funerals and the suit needs a bit more personality, so here is my answer.
Here is my first Pocket2Monster I have made. It is an octopus with some sequins for suckers. I chose the octopus because I wanted to experiment how it would look like with some overhang tentacles over the pocket. I think the execution was not that great, because its kind of confusing whether it is a broach/pin or whether it is coming out of the pocket because it is so big. The next one I’ll document step by step of my creation.
Pockets on Shirts
April 27th, 2010I never really understood why shirts had pockets on the front. Then I thought that this would be a great opportunity to add some men’s accessories. I love accessories, but for guys, there isn’t much. Then there is this pocket there, right on your chest, that is some prime real estate for something nice. That is why all the brand name logos are put on the top right of shirts.
Now, I have seen some practical uses for the front pocket. Contractors usually carry their cigarettes in their front shirt pocket for easy access and so that they don’t crush them by putting them in their back pocket. Then their is the classic nerd look of using the pocket as a pencil case.
I’m just saying. 90% of you are not making use of these pockets when those pockets can be home to cute monsters that you can take around with you. I present to you the very first Pocket2Monster.
Surprisingly, I did not personally make this one. I will show you the one I made in my next post, but was a creation that was made in the same craft session by my girlfriend. Then again, it will be less surprising that I did not make this after you see future Pocket2Monsters that I have and will be making.
